Our Story
SenseMe began with a question most people are afraid to ask out loud — and a sexologist who decided to answer it with wax.

The person behind the pour
Olga Bevz is a sexologist and candlemaker based in Lisbon. She spent years working with couples and individuals on intimacy, communication, and the role of the senses in connection — and kept running into the same gap: people wanted to explore sensory play, but the tools available were either unsafe, poorly made, or wrapped in so much stigma that curiosity never survived first contact.
So she started making candles. Not decorative ones. Not massage candles. Candles engineered for skin — with controlled melting temperatures, body-safe ingredients, and scents chosen to deepen the moment rather than distract from it.
"Every SenseMe candle is made by hand in my Lisbon workshop. Every batch is tested on skin before it ships. The temperature printed on the label is the temperature it melts at — not an estimate, not a range, a number you can trust."

Founder, SenseMe Waxplay
Six temperatures, one journey
The SenseMe range spans 50°C to 75°C across three tiers: Feather (beginner), Ember (intermediate), and Blaze (advanced). Each temperature is a distinct experience — not just hotter, but different in quality, duration, and what it asks of the people involved.
At 50°C, the wax feels like warm bathwater — a gentle entry point for people who have never tried wax play. At 75°C, every centimetre of distance matters. The journey between those two numbers is what SenseMe is about.
What we believe
Safety is not a feature — it is the foundation. Every candle uses a natural soy-paraffin blend, cosmetic-grade dyes, skin-safe phthalate-free fragrance oils, and cotton wicks. We publish full ingredient lists, temperature data, and safety guides because informed play is the only kind worth having.
Education comes before sales. We wrote a beginner's guide, a temperature guide, a safety and aftercare protocol, and a FAQ before we wrote a single sales page. If someone reads our content and decides wax play is not for them, that is a success too.
Consent is the whole conversation. Our how-to-use instructions mention safewords, stop signals, patch tests, and check-ins because these are not optional extras — they are the practice itself. Aftercare is part of every product guide, not an afterthought.
Handmade means accountable. Every candle is made by hand in Lisbon. There is no factory, no contract manufacturer, no supply chain we cannot see end to end. When something ships with the SenseMe name, the person who made it knows exactly what is inside.
How our candles are made
Each candle starts as a custom soy-paraffin wax blend formulated to melt at a precise temperature — not a range, a single number. The blend ratio changes per tier: lower temperatures use more soy for a softer pool; higher temperatures shift the ratio toward paraffin for faster melt and sharper sensation.
Cosmetic-grade dyes are added for colour. Skin-safe, phthalate-free fragrance oils are blended in at carefully tested ratios — strong enough to set a mood, subtle enough not to overpower the room. Cotton wicks are hand-placed: one wick for the Feather tier (50–55°C) for a controlled, shallow pool; three wicks for the Ember and Blaze tiers (60–75°C) for deeper, wider pools that support sustained pours.
After pouring, each candle cures for 48 hours. Then it is skin-tested, labelled, and packed in discreet, unbranded packaging. From wax to box, every step happens in Lisbon.
